Crash Bandicoot is back in a remastered trilogy, which was released today, June 30th. The very first Crash Bandicoot game was released about 20 years ago in September 1996 on the original PlayStation console. Now he’s back in a trilogy and it looks better than ever!
For starters, the graphics have been enhanced. Right from the beginning you can select the first Crash game, Cortex Strikes Back (the second game), or Warped (the third game). I selected the first game and what I saw was very impressive.

They have the same cut scenes from the past, but with the graphics and sound enhancements, it looks like a brand new game to those who never had the chance to play Crash in the past. The controls feel like how they used to be in the past. These three elements of graphics enhancements, sound enhancements, and controls gives the feel of new school mixed with old school.

I’m early in playing the game, but so far I’m enjoying it. It gives me satisfaction in nostalgia. I can see someone getting this game for a “blast from the past” experience, but I can also see someone getting this for their kid(s) and enjoying it with the family. I think it would be a fun way to introduce what you used to play, but with a today’s enhancements.
Final review: 4/5
I’m very interested to see if Activision/Sony will make a brand new Crash game if this game does well in purchases. What do you think of the remaster? Are you excited about the remaster or would you prefer a brand new game? Let me know in the comments!
Here’s the trailer for the game in case you haven’t seen it yet!
