Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Review

I’ll begin this review by saying the visuals of this game are absolutely breathtaking. I’ve played all of the Uncharted games, including Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The environment, movements from the characters, and the little details including trees and grass all looked amazing. If you enjoyed how Uncharted 4 looked, then you will certainly love the way Uncharted: The Lost Legacy looks and feels.

The major difference between this game and the others is there is no Nathan Drake. This is about Chloe and her adventure/story. I miss Nathan’s sense of humor and how quick-witted he is throughout the games. Chloe has a different style of humor and it’s difficult to forget Nathan after playing as him for so long. Despite the humor aspect, I love the idea of a female protagonist who can do it all. The last time we saw Chloe was back in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and we saw what she is capable of. Now we control her and we get an up close and personal feel for how she operates.

One argument I heard about this game is this should’ve been a DLC and not a standalone game. Normally I would agree, but if there is enough content based on story line and play time, then I don’t see an issue there. For example, the DLC for The Last of Us titled Left Behind was short and gave us a good prequel leading up to the events of the Last of Us. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has the plot and the game time to be its own game.

I have not completed the game yet, but so far I’m extremely impressed by this game and the work Naughty Dog has put into it. The game feels like a movie and even begins like one too. It will be interesting to see if Naughty Dog makes a sequel to this game or other spin-off games for Sully and Nathan’s brother, or perhaps Uncharted 5 with Nathan coming out of retirement.

Overall score: 8/10

What do you think of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy? Has the game exceeded your expectations, or were you expecting more? Are you hoping for more spin-offs, or perhaps an Uncharted 5 starring Nathan’s daughter living his legacy? Let me know in the comments!
